Truth exists and it is the job of the press to try to find it and report it to the best of their abilities.

If you have time, read this article by Mitchell Bard: http://www.jewishvirtuallibrary.org/jsource/myths/mf23a.html
and before you jump to conclusions, I know that this is a Jewish Library/references article, but honestly there are some facts about the reasons behind American support to Israel and how arab leaders send different messages (in Arabic and English) to the media than what they tell their people.

the problem with media coverage is across the board. the arabic media is no exception. the simplistic points of views that are often advocated in favor of this or that party/ side.. especially in talk shows and 'news reports.' i even remember a documentary in which a journalist at a prominent arab news network revealed his ambition to turn it into a 'fox' news model. and fox news is THE sensationalist right wing news par excellence. what the internet has shown (from readers' comments and chat rooms) is the black and white and often ignorant of details and thoughtless political sense of many. i've been thinking about this lately and remembered this book by edward said that i think you might like: Representations of the Intellectual (amazon link: http://www.amazon.com/Representations-Intellectual-1993-Reith-Lectures/dp/0679761276)
